Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Tax Advisory & Compliance:

    • Provide tax advisory services on UK corporate tax, personal tax, and mixed tax matters, including advising clients on tax-efficient structuring, tax planning, and compliance.
    • Manage tax compliance processes for corporate and individual clients, ensuring timely and accurate filing of tax returns.
    • Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients to resolve queries and manage disputes.
    • Undertake complex tax calculations and research to support advisory services and compliance work.
  • Client Management:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored advice.
    • Manage and oversee client portfolios, ensuring high levels of service and effective communication.
    • Take responsibility for client billing and fee management.
  • Tax Reporting & Documentation:

    • Review and prepare tax provisions, tax disclosures, and other tax-related reports.
    • Assist in the preparation of board papers, tax reports, and presentations for clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Team Development & Mentoring:

    • Support the development of junior team members, providing coaching, guidance, and training.
    • Delegate work effectively to junior staff and review their output, providing constructive feedback.
  • Research & Technical Expertise:

    • Stay updated on changes to UK tax law and regulations, and provide thought leadership within the firm and to clients.
    • Conduct in-depth research on tax matters and provide clear advice to clients and colleagues.
  • Business Development:

    • Assist in identifying opportunities for business growth, working with senior team members to develop new client relationships and expand services offered.

Profile

Qualifications & Skills:
  • ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified or equivalent with extensive experience in UK tax.
  • Strong technical knowledge in mixed tax matters (corporate and personal).
  • Proven experience in handling tax compliance and advisory for a diverse range of clients, including individuals, SMEs, and larger corporate entities.
  • Strong understanding of UK tax laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues clearly to clients and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in using tax compliance software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to client service.
  • Experience managing and mentoring junior staff is advantageous.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience in international tax, cross-border taxation, or VAT is a plus.
  • Experience in dealing with complex tax cases or HMRC audits.
  • Prior experience in managing client portfolios and providing business development support.
