Title: Operations Accountant

Our client, a multinational Renewable Energy group headquartered in London with operations across the globe, are currently seeking a technically adept Operations Accountant to join their finance team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • All aspects of the production of ledgers, including the preparation of account reconciliations, analysis of balance sheet and profit & loss items and revenue management.
  • Maintain adequate books & records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and UK company law, including journal posting, month-end close in line with the Group’s reporting timeline, accruals and prepayments, balance sheet substantiation.
  • Support the Asset Managers in budget preparation and periodic reforecasts.
  • Monitor monthly performance to budget, review material variances and provide relevant, high quality financial commentary.
  • SPV commercial contracts management.
  • Assisting the Project Finance function by preparing quarterly/semi-annual reports as required and assist with updating of project models.
  • G/L, cash and supplier management and invoice authorisation (in accordance with the Group Chart of Authority).
  • Report inputs in accordance with the monthly timetable, ensuring sufficient time for in-depth management review.
  • Act as the point of contact for the UK projects for the external audit and internal audit reviews and assist with the preparation of the annual financial statements for the SPVs, in accordance with Group policies and procedures.
  • Other support to the finance function as required.

Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be a finalist/newly qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or overseas equivalent academics
  • Previous exposure to renewable energy is an advantage. However, candidates from real estate, property industries, oil and gas or similar backgrounds will also be considered.
  • Good knowledge of UK GAAP and financial concepts.
  • Previous exposure to the NETSUITE ERP system is an advantage.
  • Exposure to working with multiple key business stakeholders and delivery of accurate, timely inputs.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications (specifically Excel and PowerPoint).
