This part-time Accountant position will be covering maternity leave for 7 - 9 months on a fixed term contract. This role will be responsible for month end processes, reconciliations, audit and supporting year end. This role will be part-time

Our client is a well-established software and technology company with international reach. With over 2500 employees across the Globe, the Part-time Accountant covering this maternity leave will integral to the ongoing success of the business.

Description

  • Overseeing the staff expenses process
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, UK GAAP).
  • Support in the management of general ledgers, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Perform account reconciliations, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations, to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
  • Ensure payroll accounts are reconciled, including tax, pension contributions, and other deductions, in accordance with relevant legislation.
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of payroll-related tax returns (e.g., PAYE, NIC, etc.).
  • Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and other tax-related filings, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation and financial schedules.
  • Assist in the month-end close process, including the posting of journals and accruals, to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Prepare financial reports and analyses to support decision-making, including variance analysis, cash flow analysis, and cost analysis.
  • Ensure all accounting processes adhere to company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the finance team, including assisting in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial modelling.
  • Identify and suggest improvements to accounting systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Profile

A successful Accountant should have:

  • Strong experience in the above as the sole accountant in a company
  • Part-qualified or QBE accountant
  • Experience using Oracle is desirable
  • Strong excel experience required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to hit the ground running
  • Proven contracting experience is desirable
  • Ability to start beginning of May

Job Offer
