Principal Investigator (Interim)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a small and dynamic Internal Audit Investigations (IAI) team as a Principal Investigator. This interim role focuses on delivering both reactive and proactive fraud investigations, including whistleblowing cases.

The Role

The Principal Investigator will:

  • Lead and manage fraud investigations from initiation to completion.
  • Conduct proactive investigations to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Ensure all investigative activities comply with relevant legislation and internal processes.
  • Produce high-quality reports and outputs that support decision-making and potential legal action.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, presenting findings clearly and professionally.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold an Accredited Counter Fraud Specialist (ACFS) qualification or equivalent (e.g., PIP Level 2) or demonstrate a proven track record of success in a similar role.
  • Have a strong understanding of investigative methods, legislation, and processes.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate findings and recommendations clearly.
  • Be capable of planning and delivering investigations from start to finish, ensuring timely and effective outcomes.
