Our client is an NHS Integrate Care Board which is seeking an experienced interim project accountant to provide extra support to the finance team while they continue to deliver efficiencies.
Working closely with the Deputy Director of Finance, the key task is to analyse and model the Section 117 Packages of Care, which are given to patients after hospital treatment, to understand in greater detail the arrangements the group currently has in place across the region. This is likely to involve obtaining information internally, and externally from partner organisations, and conducting detailed analysis of this data to establish a baseline. From this position, the organisation will seek to establish an agreement with local partners.
You should be an experienced accountant with strong analytical and financial modelling skills - including the skills to manipulate large amounts of data in Excel. Ideally you will have gained extensive experience of working in the NHS system but, in this instance, experience of working in Local Authorities perhaps around Section 75 Agreements would also be very helpful. Crucially, you must be prepared to roll up your sleeves, delve into the data and provide the analysis and insight that will help the team to find an efficient way forward. Strong communication skills, the ability to build working relationships swiftly and the empathy to handle situations sensitively are important.
This position is likely to offer challenging situations and will draw on many of your existing skills. It will add strength to your CV and should make for an interesting opportunity.
