Property Accountant - Client side London£50k - £55kExcellent pensionBonus WFH - 4:1The role: This role would suit someone from a managing agent background who has strong service charge accounting experience across a commercial or a large mixed use portfolio who is keen to move to the client side. The role is ensuring the smooth running of all financial aspects and in particular the service charge process for the portfolio.Duties:

  1. Assist with the maintenance of complex service charge calculations. Including net internal area and density calculations.
  2. Preparation of service charge budgets and calculation of service charges for tenants.
  3. Reviewing service charge expenditure and investigating variances against budget, handling forecasting adjustments if required and presenting data at budget meetings with budget holders.
  4. Administration of the year end reconciliation process.
  5. Communicating effectively with all relevant parties to ensure timely delivery of monthly reports.
  6. Assist with system development and process automation of service charges.
  7. Review Tenant and Landlord Recovery account and reconcile monthly.
  8. Liaise with Management Accounts/Financial Accounts on group reporting, financial statements and external audits.
  9. Quarterly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and assisting the Financial Controller in presenting financial results to Group Finance on a quarterly basis.

Requirements:

  1. Experience of at least 5 years in a service charge accounting background
  2. Experience using property management systems is required
  3. Part-Qualified accountant or Studying (ACA, ACCA or ACMA) is preferred.
  4. The candidate must be able to work independently under pressure and be able to meet strict deadlines.
  5. Strong data analysis skills and an ability to identify and resolve problems is essential.
  6. Possess good communication skills
  7. Good Excel skills and an ability to present financial results in a concise and understandable manner is essential.
