This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business based in London, offering £350 per day for a part-time position requiring 2 days per week. The Role:As the Management Accountant/Group Accountant, you'll take ownership of preparing and reviewing statutory management accounts, ensuring compliance with FRS102, and driving accuracy across monthly and year-end processes. You'll partner with external auditors, oversee key financial functions, and work closely with commercial, financial, and legal teams to support the business-all while bringing a logical, problem-solving mindset to the table.
Your Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly statutory management accounts in line with FRS102, adhering to a detailed month-end checklist.
- Produce and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, covering inventory, fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, and more.
- Compile the year-end trial balance and oversee statutory accounts preparation with an external third party.
- Coordinate the annual external audit, acting as the primary point of contact for auditors, ensuring a smooth process.
- Oversee the accounts payable function, including weekly payment reviews, and manage quarterly UK VAT submissions, with oversight of import/export VAT.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with senior commercial, financial, and legal stakeholders to support business objectives.
Requirements:
- Recently qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent), ideally with up to 2 years post-qualification experience in retail fashion, e-commerce, or wholesale sectors.
- Audit background (desirable)
- Exceptional Excel proficiency and a knack for solving problems logically, with clear, concise workpaper preparation.
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to forge strong relationships across senior teams and influence effectively.
- Resilient, proactive, and able to manage priorities in a part-time capacity with precision and professionalism.
