My client in South West London is seeking a strong Reconciliation Accountant to join their payroll team. This role is crucial for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of their payroll and pension data. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining all debt schedules, reconciling payroll and pension account balances, maintaining the general ledger, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
Day-to-day of the role:- Reconciliations: Perform daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations for all payroll and pension-related accounts. Investigate and resolve discrepancies or variances in account balances. Prepare monthly reports on payroll and pension-related accounts and variances identified.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Ensure costs are correctly allocated, maintain and update general ledger accounts, and ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
- Compliance and Controls: Maintain security and confidentiality of all data, ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, and assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and process improvements.
- Project Work: Support payroll-related projects as requested and provide review and feedback for any proposed changes that may impact the reconciliation process.
- Part Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CCAB, ACA) or similar level of qualification.
- Experience in a similar accounting role with a focus on reconciling complex payroll and pension accounts independently.
- Detailed working knowledge of payroll software, ideally Oracle.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to identify issues in data and reconcile complex accounts with large datasets.
- Ability to work independently, manage own workload, and prioritize tasks with limited management supervision.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, able to explain information about pay and pensions to non-experts.

This is an urgent requirement, with the opportunity to work three days per week from home.Interim for at least three months, but with a strong probability of lasting six months and potentially longer.
