An outstanding secondary school in Southwark is looking for a Finance Officer to join our small finance team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with previous school finance experience to contribute to a high-performing team in an exceptional educational environment. The successful candidate must be available to start immediately.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Prior experience working as a Finance Officer in a school essential
  • Proficiency in using FMS (Financial Management System), ideally SIMS, essential
  • Strong understanding of school finance regulations and funding structures
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a small team
  • Strong communication skills and ability to meet deadlines

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily financial operations of the school
  • Oversee budgets, cash flow, and financial reporting
  • Process purchase orders, invoices, and payments via the FMS system
  • Prepare financial reports for senior leadership and governors
  • Ensure financial compliance with relevant regulations and policies
  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial processes
