Overview:

We’re recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded medium-sized accountancy firm in Central London, currently seeking a driven and detail-oriented Semi-Senior Accountant to join their growing team. This is a great opportunity for a part-qualified accountant who is looking to develop their skills in a supportive, professional environment with exposure to a broad mix of clients and services.

 

The Role:

As a Semi-Senior Accountant, you’ll work on a wide range of assignments across accounts preparation, management accounts, VAT, and tax compliance. You’ll work closely with seniors and managers while taking increasing ownership of client relationships and your own portfolio as you progress.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
  • Assist with preparation of corporation tax and personal tax returns
  • Prepare management accounts and VAT returns for a variety of clients
  • Liaise directly with clients to request records and resolve queries
  • Assist with bookkeeping and cloud accounting system setup and support
  • Support the wider team with ad hoc client and internal projects
  • Contribute to a positive team culture and support junior trainees where appropriate

 

Requirements:

  • Part-qualified ACA / ACCA or AAT qualified (or equivalent)
  • 2+ years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice
  • Good working knowledge of FRS 102 and UK tax basics
  • Proficiency in cloud-based systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills
  • Confident communicator with a proactive and professional approach
  • Eagerness to learn and take on new responsibilities
