We are exclusively recruiting a knowledgeable and dedicated Semi Senior Accountant to join a thriving, modern Chancery Lane accountancy practice. This is an exciting opportunity for a part qualified or newly qualified accountant to join a practice that primarily caters to a niche client base of barristers and legal professionals. Where you’ll work:

Our client is a family-owned, sustainably grown accountancy firm. The strategic client focus is on barristers and legal professionals (but not limited too), and you will be working in a flexible, personable environment with communicative, supportive management. The client portfolio is recurring, with referrals onboarded monthly. Most staff are longstanding, client retention is high, and they have grown 25% in revenue in the last year.

About the role:

  • Preparation of draft accounts and final accounts

  • Preparing working papers

  • Assisting in the completion of personal tax returns

  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns

  • Liaising with clients to resolve queries and provide advice

  • Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience

  • Full-time, permanent role, hybrid working offered

  • Flexible working: Most of the staff are 40% remote, 60% in office (but this is flexible)

What you bring to the table:

You have a thirst for knowledge and a proactive way of working. You know how to get things done well and efficiently, all while providing excellent customer service.

  • AAT qualified and working towards full ACCA / ACA qualification if not already newly qualified

  • Strong working knowledge of accounting software

  • Good working knowledge of MS Office

  • Work well with senior management

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage several projects at any one time

  • Strong initiative and solution-based thinking

  • Flexible, personable and diplomatic in your approach

  • Experience looking after a portfolio of legal clients is advantageous but not mandatory
