Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with a passion for supporting Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are looking for a SEND Finance and Placements Officer to join our team in Central London for a 12-month maternity cover. This role is crucial in ensuring the effective allocation and tracking of SEND funding, helping to make a difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:? Financial Monitoring & Data Management - Track, monitor, and process data related to SEND funding, personal budgets, and specialist equipment.? Pupil Tracking & Placement Management - Maintain accurate records of pupil transitions and ensure funding aligns with attendance.? Budget Oversight & Governance - Strengthen financial decision-making across the division, ensuring effective budget management and reporting.? High Needs Funding Oversight - Monitor school top-ups, college fees, and independent special school charges within the High Needs Funding Block.? Payment Processing & Compliance - Ensure funding agreements are tracked, payments are approved, and financial governance is upheld.? Reporting & Analysis - Provide regular financial reports to the Head of SEN, identifying spending patterns and budgetary trends.
What We're Looking For:Financial Expertise - Strong understanding of local authority finance and experience managing budgets/payment processes.SEND Knowledge - A solid grasp of SEND legislation and its impact on funding and placements.Analytical Skills - Ability to interpret complex datasets and provide meaningful insights.Stakeholder Engagement - Experience working collaboratively with internal and external partners to refine systems and business processes.Administrative Excellence - Proven ability to manage multiple financial and administrative functions within a multi-disciplinary environment.
