Senior Accountant

Up to £70,000 plus exceptional benefits

Our client is one of the largest investment managers in real estate, with an impressive portfolio across various asset classes and a strong global presence.

As part of the continuous growth, they are looking for a Senior Accountant to join their finance team in London and focus on the oversight of the financial and reporting aspects of their UK property portfolio.

The successful individual will join a dynamic and hard-working that enjoys the company's premium benefits and outstanding offices.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing tenant invoices issued by the AR team
  • Collaborating weekly with UK property managers and the internal accounts receivable team to monitor debt payments
  • Approving property-related invoices for UK/Holdco through the approval system
  • Monthly review of the AP report to ensure cleanliness and follow-up on any credit items, supported by the internal AP team
  • Ensuring monthly bank reconciliations for UK/Holdco are completed and signed off timely, with assistance from the cash management team
  • Recording the UK acquisition fund flows in the accounting system
  • Preparing quarterly reports, including accruals and prepayments for the properties
  • Conducting monthly closing and quarterly preparation tasks for efficient quarter-end closing
  • Preparation and review of statutory accounts, liquidity planning, budgeting for property and development
  • Coordinating with advisors to ensure timely submission of financial statements and tax returns, tracking progress, and documenting final outputs
  • Reviewing cash balances for UK/Holdco entities, recommending and facilitating quarterly interest payments and dividends while considering working capital and capex needs
  • Liaising with internal and external teams (debt, development, audit) on any portfolio-related queries
  • Training and mentoring junior staff
  • Get involved in ad hoc projects for other European jurisdictions

Required Skills:

  • Accounting Qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA)
  • Good experience in property accounting is essential
  • Knowledge of accounting systems - preferably MRI
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Ability to collaborate with various internal and external teams in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment
  • Understanding of the commercial aspects of real estate, including capex monitoring, property management functions, and relevant financial aspects like debt and tax.
