We are part of an accountancy group, which is a top 100 accountancy firm in the UK, servicing over 15,000 clients.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant who is eager to develop or enhance their comprehensive understanding of accounting and tax while refining their client liaison skills.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in an accountancy practice and possess a strong foundational knowledge of accounting, tax, payroll, CIS, and VAT. They will manage their own portfolio of clients, with the primary objective of delivering a high-quality service. The Senior Accountant will report to the Practice Manager, who will provide training, support, and guidance as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

o Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of services.

o Prepare, review, and submit statutory financial statements, corporation tax computations, VAT returns, and personal self-assessment tax returns.

o Produce and review management accounts, including necessary accounting adjustments.

o Oversee bookkeeping tasks, such as bank reconciliations and customer/supplier statement reconciliations.

o Coordinate payroll and CIS processes with clients and service providers, ensuring accuracy.

o Mentor and support junior team members, fostering professional development.

o Provide training and support to clients on online bookkeeping platforms.

o Liaise with HMRC, clients, and other professionals to address accounting queries and compliance issues.

o Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures.

o Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations, ensuring compliance.

o Collaborate with other service providers within the DNS group to meet client needs.

o Undertake ad-hoc tasks as assigned by management to support operational goals.

Qualifications and Skills:

o Part-qualified or fully qualified ACCA, ACA, or CIMA.

o Minimum of 2 years' experience in an accountancy firm.

o Strong knowledge of UK GAAP/IFRS, Money Laundering Regulations, and relevant legislation.

o Comprehensive understanding of UK tax legislation, including Corporation Tax, Personal Tax, Capital Gains Tax, and VAT.

o Proven ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines.

o Strong analytical, problem-solving, and double-entry accounting skills.

o Meticulous attention to detail.

o Proficient in accounting and tax software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.

o Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and colleagues.

o Solid IT skills, including familiarity with cloud-based systems.

o Fluency in English with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

o Experience managing a portfolio of clients and providing advisory services.

o Ability to mentor junior team members and provide training where required.

Salary:

o £35,000 to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience
