Their firm prides itself on offering tailored financial solutions to businesses and individuals, ensuring compliance and efficiency while fostering long-term client relationships.Job SummaryThey are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in practice accounting, excellent technical skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding client service. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, supervising junior staff, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant include:
  • Client Management: Handle a portfolio of clients, providing accounting, taxation, and advisory services.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, management accounts, and statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP.
  • Tax Compliance: Manage corporate and personal tax returns, VAT returns, and liaise with HMRC where necessary.
  • Audit & Compliance: Assist with audit engagements and ensure adherence to compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervision & Training: Mentor and review the work of junior accountants, providing guidance and support.
  • Business Advisory: Offer strategic advice to clients on financial planning, tax efficiency, and business growth.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for efficiency improvements within the firm's accounting processes and client services.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Fully qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a practice environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting standards, tax legislation, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines efficiently.
  • Experience in supervising and mentoring junior team members.
