Our client is a rapidly expanding independent beauty brand with an impressive global reputation. They are seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to join their team in London. This role offers a competitive salary of £50,000 - £55,000 and the opportunity to work within one of the most recognised brands in the industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical accounting, financial analysis, and ensuring accurate and timely financial management of regional subsidiaries
What you'll do:
As a Senior Accountant, your role will be pivotal in managing the financial health of the company. You will oversee accounting operations, supervise month-end procedures, manage AR/AP aging reports, and ensure compliance with US and Singapore reporting standards. Your expertise will be crucial in safeguarding assets through improved controls and checks. You will maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive financial information. Your responsibilities also include updating accounting policies, ensuring legal compliance, working with cross-functional teams on accounting principles, and staying abreast of current trends in Accounting, Finance, and Human Resources.
- Manage and monitor accounting operations and components of financial management.
- Supervise month-end procedures ensuring all bookkeeping tasks and checks are completed timely.
- Manage AR/AP aging reports and ensure payment runs are prepared and executed timely.
- Responsible for US and Singapore reporting and compliance.
- Safeguard assets by improving and implementing controls and checks.
- Remain confidential with all financial, accounting, and HR information.
- Improve and update accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensure all legal and regulatory requirements are met.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure accounting principles are addressed.
- Stay up-to-date on Accounting, Finance, and Human Resources trends.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Senior Accountant position brings a wealth of experience in senior accounting or financial management roles. With a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or a related field under your belt, you have developed a thorough understanding of financial analysis, reporting, payroll functions as well as accounts receivable/payable functions. Your strong communication skills enable you to effectively convey complex financial information. You have a solid understanding of regulations and laws applicable to the role. Your ability to deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment sets you apart. Excellent computer skills, particularly experience with Netsuite and other internal software, will be beneficial in this role. An interest in the beauty industry is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Senior Accounting or Financial Management role.
- Thorough understanding of financial analysis, reporting, payroll and accounts receivable/payable functions.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Understanding of regulations and applicable laws.
- Ability to deliver high-quality work on tight deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent computer skills; experience with Netsuite and other internal software is beneficial.
- Interest in the beauty industry is a plus.
