Nicholas Howard is delighted to be recruiting for an Interim Senior Accountant to join an innovative and high-growth global biotechnology company. The Senior Accountant will support in the monthly/ quarterly accounting close and financial reporting process of the EMEA business, with customers in the B2B, B2C and medical sector. The EMEA region consists of about 10 legal entities and/or branches.

The Senior Accountant will be tasked with managing accounting entries, documents, payment information and recording other financial transactions for both group reporting purposes and local statutory reporting. The Senior Accountant will work closely with finance leaders in a fast-paced public company to execute financial operational initiatives, monthly financial reporting and internal control compliance.

In this high-growth and fast-paced environment continuous development of the processes and systems is crucial. The successful candidate for this role should preferably have a track record of having identified and implemented process and systems improvements. As such, the Senior Accountant should provide a thorough understanding of ERP (preferably SAP4/Hana) systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of the monthly financial close process including creation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Assist in the review of monthly US GAAP results and preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting to US Parent in relation to the 10Q/K consolidated reporting.
  • Support the quality and timeliness of internal control requirements associated with general ledger reporting, including SOX404.
  • Support the team in working with external advisors and auditors in the preparation and audits of statutory financial statements and supporting notes as well as the preparation of corporate tax computations, returns, and ad hoc tax requests.
  • Assist the Manager Accounting EMEA in the review of the accounting activities performed by the accountants in the team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Biotech, pharmaceutical, or medical sector experience highly desirable
