We have partnered with a commercial real estate firm, based in Central London who are seeking a Senior Client Accountant to oversee all aspects of their commercial portfolio for the Property Management division. 

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Prepare and submit client statements, VAT reports, trial balances, general ledgers, and client reports.
  • Action instructions from property managers or asset managers, including the creation of new debtors with new leases and amending accounts.
  • Prepare completion statements based on details provided by PM/AM and run reports off the system.
  • Raise rent, service charges, insurance, and recharged or ad hoc charges to tenants.
  • Raise and payment of void unit service charge liabilities for the client.
  • Enter service charge budgets onto the system and update apportionments and tenants on account.
  • Prepare and reconcile annual service charge accounts, liaising with property managers, centre managers, and service charge auditors for the audit.
  • Payover to the client in line with agreed procedures and record on the system.
  • Prepare and reconcile funding requests to the client.
  • Monthly reconciliation of client bank accounts, including investigation and correction of reconciling items.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Well-organised with the ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure on a diverse portfolio.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Proactive individual who can work autonomously and as part of a larger team.
  • Knowledge of service charge budget input, lease record setup, and service charge reconciliation.
