Senior Financial Accountant - PropCo. OUR CLIENT is an established and successful PropCo - with a rich variety of commercial and residential assets. Due to further expansion, they have instructed us to help them recruit an additional dedicated Senior Financial Accountant to their group finance function. The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for producing statutory accounts and reports - along with assisting with group consolidation, internal audit and developing management information as well as continually reviewing financial processes and suggesting improvements.
THE ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES for the Senior Financial Accountant will include:
- Preparing statutory consolidated and combined accounts for group companies.
- Reviewing audit files and workings as prepared by other staff for smaller entities.
- Liaising with Senior Auditors on any audit issues arising on the Group accounts.
- Preparing year end valuation workings for group companies for inclusion in statutory accounts.
- Audit insurance premiums for payment and process.
- Ensuring processing of raw data for allocated companies is timely and efficient by liaising with team.
- Suggesting systems improvements and implementation of new processes.
- Reviewing quarterly VAT/CIS Returns and reviewing processes.
- Assisting with the accounting integration of any new entities acquired.
- Undertaking internal audit on accounts processes and on other divisions as required.
- Preparing/reviewing key financial information on a quarterly basis for the wholly owned business.
- Reviewing quarterly rent roll report and audit the integrity of the data.
- Using and developing the Business Intelligence system to improve management reporting.
- Assisting with preparation of other management information as required by directors.
- Ad Hoc Projects.
THE PERSON and SKILLS REQUIREMENTS for the Senior Financial Accountant role:
- Must be a Qualified Accountant (ideally ACA but will consider ACCA or equivalent) with experience of the Real Estate / Property sector. Candidates with accounts prep experience from practice will be considered.
- Experience preparing consolidated accounts, management accounts and providing analysis of those accounts.
- Experience preparing statutory accounts.
- Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office along with property accounting systems and ideally experience of Caseware or similar would be highly advantageous.
- Ability to understand taxation implications of accounting decisions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including listening, building support, establishing rapport and demonstrating awareness of internal and external issues in a calm and polite manner.
