Senior Financial Accountant

Location: London, UK

Job Description:

My client is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing strategic insights to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with UK GAAP and FRS requirements
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities
  • Coordinate and manage the annual audit process
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
  • Mentor and develop junior accounting staff

Qualifications:

  • ACA or ACCA preferred
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role
  • Experience in the FinTech industry or a high-growth startup environment is a plus
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong understanding of UK GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Exceptional analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
