Robertson Bell is excited to be partnering with a leading organisation to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant on a 2-year fixed term contract. Created to support a major transformation, this role will play a key part in managing technical accounting matters and ensuring compliance across the organisation.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead on drafting technical accounting papers and support audit processes by presenting and justifying complex accounting treatments.
  • Implement new accounting standards, including IFRS17, ensuring systems and controls are aligned accordingly.
  • Provide technical guidance on project spend, VAT treatment, and capitalisation in relation to transformation activities.
  • Collaborate across teams and suppliers to ensure financial risks are identified and addressed in a changing environment.

You will be based in their London office, requiring you to travel into their offices three days per week.

The role offers access to an excellent package, including pension contributions over 20% and generous annual leave.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a fully qualified accountant (CCAB/CIMA) with post-qualification experience.
  • Bring strong technical accounting knowledge, ideally with experience drafting position papers and implementing new standards.
  • Ideally have previous experience in the public sector or central government.
  • Have excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical information to a range of audiences.
