Senior Financial Accountant - 12-month FTC maternity leave.
This is a broad role supporting the CFO and wider finance function with all finance and technical processing related duties including, but not limited to, monthly management accounts, bank and client money reconciliations, tax, ledger management, year-end financial statements, regulatory returns, budgeting, and group consolidations.Applicants must be part qualified accountants with relevant experience gained within an insurance / broking environment. Knowledge of CASS / Client Money regulations would be particularly useful. Strong systems skills are a must to aid with the management of large amounts of data.
Principal duties and responsibilities
- Maintenance and review of fixed assets’ registers
- Maintenance of nominal ledger and all supporting spreadsheets/workings
- Updating of FX rates and Bank reconciliation on Cash Manager
- Reviewing of Bought Ledger and Cashbook reports
- Production of client money reconciliations
- Production of monthly management accounts
- Production of the Bii (monthly Income Report)
- Provision of assistance in the calculation of corporate tax
- Production of VAT return
- Production of regulatory returns for the Group’s subsidiary companies (e.g. FCA’s RMAR, Resilience report)
- Provision of assistance to the CFO and AD in devising, implementing, and reviewing the adequacy of the Group’s internal controls with respect to financial matters
- Provision of assistance to the CFO and AD in the preparation of all workings leading to the production of the Group’s year-end financial statements and the interim profit verification, including technical review and challenge of its accounting consolidation
- Preparation of the Group’s annual budget
- Production of annual 1099 forms for our US entity regarding their Suppliers payments.
- Calculation and proposal of the Group’s FX trading activity and investment of surplus own funds
- Reviewing the UK entities P11D’s and ensuring payment and submission of forms are completed within the deadlines.
- Maintenance of relationships with external counterparties (banks, consultants etc.)
- Ad hoc duties as required
You will befully/part Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA, 2 years post qualification and ideally from an insurance background - insurance/broking.
