The City & Capital Recruitment team are currently representing a successful & fast growing property finance lender, based in Mayfair, who have retained our services in order to appoint an experienced and reliable Senior Management Accountant to join their growing team.

Due to increased investment our client is expecting to double the size of its UK operation across the next 12-18 months having recently launched their first international office in Singapore with great success.

The finance team is at the heart of the business and thus this increased activity is driving the appointment of a fully qualified Senior Management Accountant who will take on key responsibilities to ensure the successful running of the financial affairs of both the business and their partners.

This role would suit an individual with demonstrable experience within a similar role, whether this be working for an accountancy practise or within the finance or accountancy team of a commercial business. Experience will only be considered within financial services, however you do not need to have worked for a property finance lender before.

The ideal individual that will fit in with the team and duties will be highly organised and capable of managing a number of jobs simultaneously. You will be a proactive individual, quick to spot opportunities or concerns and to address these quickly and accurately. You will be a strong team player, happy to roll up your sleeves and undertake any task and you will be a confident and you will demonstrate an excellent attention to detail as well as a confidence in terms of both written and oral communication.

In addition you will be able to demonstrate experience across some of the key duties outlined below - Though where duties have not been undertaken (as perhaps they are sector specific) full training and support will be given;

Duties will include (though may not be limited to):

  • Update the commitment fee and valuations spreadsheets against payments and receipts, reconciling with bank accounts.
  • Raising sales ledger invoices, in a timely manner.
  • Reconciling the intercompany accounts with other entities.
  • Ownership of accruals and prepayments to prepare, post and reconcile on a monthly basis.
  • Reconciling fixed assets to incorporate all additions and disposals, executing a physical count at least once a year.
  • Preparing and posting monthly journals as required for disposal of assets.
  • Analysis of profit and loss account balances on a monthly basis.
  • VAT Returns
  • Assisting the management accountant with balance sheet reconciliations when necessary.
  • Prepare and provide documentation for the audit requirement.
  • Accompanied by the senior accountant, assist accounts for our Singapore company.
  • Review insurance renewals and maintain the register for all the insurance renewals.

Our client is willing to pay up to £85k as a basic salary which will be complemented by their company benefits scheme and bonus package. Most notably as the business is expected to double in size due their increased investment and funding, opportunities to progress your own career standing forward quickly within may be prevalent, once excellent performance is delivered.

You MUST be able to work from their Victoria office between 9am and 6pm Monday - Friday:

Required Experience

  • Fully Qualified Accountant
  • Experience working for an accountancy practise OR
  • Experience working within an accounts or finance department for a commercial business
  • Advanced level of Excel
