Senior Project Accountant | Hyper-Growth Design Firm | London (Hybrid)

The Client

Harmonic are delighted to be working alongside a renowned, fast-growing international design firm. Specialising in creating innovative and luxurious spaces, they have established themselves as a leading player in in their space and are currently turning over £80m+. This dynamic and growing business is known for delivering exceptional high-end design solutions that blend creativity, functionality, and culture elements.

The company is full of hard-working, vibrant people who are passionate about the creative space and working collaboratively with the team. They are a medium sized business that have increased their headcount massively in the last few years across all international offices.

The Role

In this role, you will join a team of skilled finance professionals who value diligent, collaborative work. You will provide senior-level support involving project setup, ongoing maintenance, project health assessments, client billings, collections, accounts payable, revenue recognition, and the generation of management reports.

The business is looking for someone experienced in project accounting, looking to take a step up into a senior role to work alongside the global project accounting manager. They are looking for someone experienced in the creative industries, keen to be a part of a vibrant, growing business.

Responsibilities:

  • Review project contracts to ensure financial compliance
  • Review project WIP, budget variances, and assessing project profitability
  • Liaising with project managers and senior leaders on budgeting
  • Manage billing, cash flow projections, and lead collection of outstanding balances
  • Perform accounts payable duties involving coding, coordinating approvals, and releasing invoices
  • Lead project health reviews alongside project managers and analyse project costs in relation to budgets and terms
  • Manage end-to-end project accounting process ensuring invoices are issues at various milestones
  • Identify areas for improvement and suggesting procedures, processes, and efficiency enhancing tools.

What we need to see:

  • Prior experience in a project accounting role
  • Proficient in the general ledger, payroll, AP/AR
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Genuine interest in architecture and design

What we'd like to see:

  • Experience in an architecture, construction, engineering, or interior design business
  • International/multi currency experience
  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or Qualified by Experience
  • Medium to large company experience

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 + benefits

Start Date: ASAP

Location: London

Hybrid/Remote: 3 days per week in-office
