Senior Real Estate Fund Finance Specialist - Operations. OUR CLIENT are a well-established and active international Investment and Asset Management group. After internal re-organisation, now they have a vacancy for a bright and energetic Senior Real Estate Fund Finance Specialist with a real estate fund accounting backgroundto join their Real Estate Fund Operations / Accounting Team - to oversee their outsourced service providers on various European Real Estate funds.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES for the Senior Real Estate Fund Finance Specialist are:

  • Overseeing production of Statutory and Investor Reporting, Board Papers, NAV Calculations, Income Distribution Calculations and Income Tax and VAT Returns for the Real Estate Funds or Special Purpose Vehicles.
  • Identifying and working with the outsourced providers to document all stakeholder and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring that that all stakeholder and regulatory requirements are met within the given deadlines, also providing oversight of agreed service levels and KPIs for specified fund range.
  • Periodically checking the integrity of data held by the outsource provider.
  • Managing any issues escalated by the service provider in relation to other 3rd parties in the operating model
  • Working with structuring team, internal counsel, external advisors and Fund Managers to ensure that operating frameworks are set up appropriately.
  • Providing operational input as required to Product Managers and others as required in the wider team to ensure that business objectives are met and defined clearly for service provider(s).
  • Providing input and instruction to the service provider team for acquisitions with potential tasks including assisting with the structuring advice, set-up of investment structures in accordance with tax advice, creation of new entities and closely liaising with investment team to ensure transaction closing is achieved as planned.
  • Presenting information to the Boards /Operating Committees/Others charged with governance.
  • Building, developing and maintaining good working relationships between the team and its internal/external clients and suppliers.
  • Providing oversight of and involvement in invoice authorisation and cash management operations.
  • Completing other ad-hoc projects and tasks from time to time.
  • Providing back up support for the Lead Specialist.
  • Mentoring and coaching more junior members of staff as appropriate.

THE PERSON and SKILLS REQUIREMENTS for the Senior Real Estate Fund Specialist:

  • A Qualified Accountant ACCA/CIMA/ACA (or equivalent). With strong post-qualification experience in a similar role (4 years+).
  • Previous experience of real estate fund accounting and real estate / private equity structures - including European structures and Lux GAAP etc .
  • Some team management or supervision experience would be beneficial.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Teamwork mindset including the ability to work with a wider team also partnering with those in the service provider.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Have strong technical accounting skills and be driven to keep abreast with current requirements.
  • Able to problem solve, and deal with day-today issues that crop up, including managing a variety of stakeholders to resolve.
  • Able to work autonomously, keeping your superiors abreast of status as necessary.
