Our client is seeking a Senior Technical Reinsurance Accountant to join their dynamic finance team during an exciting period of change and growth. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of all Outwards Reinsurance transactions, play a key role in building an efficient Finance function, and contribute to significant changes that will accelerate the financial close. The successful candidate will enjoy a competitive salary of £750 per day and the flexibility of hybrid working from their London location.

What you'll do:
As a Senior Technical Reinsurance Accountant, your role will be pivotal in driving the efficiency of our client's Finance function. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by taking ownership of all Outwards Reinsurance transactions, managing both automated and 'non-standard' contracts. Your expertise will be crucial in handling intra-group reinsurance submissions, calculating bad debt, and producing insightful commentary on the outwards reinsurance result. Additionally, you will serve as the primary contact for auditors and handle downstream reporting related to outwards reinsurance. Your secondary responsibilities will include managing inwards insurance and reserving transactions.
- Take ownership and responsibility for all Outwards Reinsurance transactions in the financial result. Maintain intermediate understanding of and responsibility for reconciliations and control of automated outwards reinsurance transactions in the ledger.
- Manage manual processing for 'non-standard' outwards reinsurance contracts.
- Handle intra-group reinsurance submissions, including being first point-of-contact for intercompany partners.
- Calculate reinsurance bad debt and key inputs into reinsurance recoverable reporting.
- Serve as first point-of-contact for auditors for outwards reinsurance.
- Analyse and produce commentary on the outwards reinsurance result.
- Be responsible and first point-of-contact for any downstream reporting relating to outwards reinsurance.
- Hold secondary responsibility for inwards insurance and reserving transactions.

Your deep understanding of insurance accounting will be critical to your success in this role. Experience within Lloyd's Market would be highly beneficial, as would familiarity with Oracle general leger. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to effectively liaise with various stakeholders, while your proven experience in controls and reconciliations will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
