The Company - EslingKenny is currently working with a leading property developer in London who have won numerous awards and is listed on the London Stock Exchange. They are looking to strengthen their company with the appointment of a Service Charge Accountant who wants to work closely with an experienced Financial Controller and progress.

This role will require someone to ensure accurate accounting and reporting of the Division’s service charge portfolio. Financial overview of the managing agents operating on the schemes to ensure correct procedures, tax treatments etc are followed.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall accuracy and timeliness of Estate Accounting
  • Tasked with driving best accounting practice from Managing Agents
  • Review and audit the operation of the managing agents
  • Verify the tendering processes to give confidence Purchasers are being provided a good service at a fair price.
  • Ensure correct tax treatments and that taxes are correctly accounted for
  • Ensure heating accounts for developments are reconciled and correctly accounted for, including reviews of tariffs and surplus/deficit on each scheme
  • Review and approve year-end service accounts
  • Review and approve ongoing void cost calculations
  • Assist with Divisional reporting and ad hoc requests
  • Assist in the day to day running of the Divisional accounting function
  • To undertake other projects an analysis on an ad hoc basis

Candidate profile:

  • ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualified preferred
  • Motivated with a positive 'can do’ attitude
  • Proven track record of success in study
  • Strong desire to develop and progress within the business
  • Good organisational skills
  • Professional approach and high level of discretion.
  • Team player, willing to learn and get involved with a wide range of tasks
  • Ability to work on own initiative and generate solutions.
  • Awareness of the industry and company.
  • Highly IT literate, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Benefits:

The role offers up to £75k per annum dependent on experience and 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) + other benefits.
