Service Charge Accountant

Monday - Friday 9-5:30pm

2 days from home, 3 days in the office

Our client, an established property management business based in central London which specialises in commercial property management, block management and residential lettings. They manage commercial and residential properties on behalf of freeholders, institutional and private investors in London and some of their clients are non-UK based.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and entrepreneurial company with a wide range of responsibilities.


THE ROLE

This is a diverse role which incorporates elements of company and service charge accounting as well as ad-hoc accounting duties, as required.

Management

  • Liaison with operations/ property management team
  • Responsibility for production of budgets and EOY accounts within deadlines
  • Responsibility for financial management of district heating systems
  • Responsibility for timely production of expenditure v budget reports
  • Management of financial compliance
  • Responsibility for credit control

Purchase Ledger

  • Producing Payment Runs for Contractors
  • Responsibility for accuracy of Contractor ledgers
  • Liaise with Suppliers directly by email and telephone
  • Dealing with contractor queries and making sure accounting systems are up to date

Sales Ledger

  • Ownership of arrears, for a portfolio of clients
  • Reporting of arrears in monthly management meetings
  • Credit Control, liaising with occupiers/tenants directly by email and telephone relating to outstanding amounts and invoice queries
  • Prepare and issue service charge packs to occupiers/tenants when required

Banking

  • Ownership of Bank Reconciliations for a portfolio of clients
  • Responsibility for the governance of Notional Accounts, within the portfolio
  • Assist team with ad hoc bank duties


Experience

Experience in a relevant role, AAT qualification an advantage

Previous experience working within the property industry

Skills

Confidence with Microsoft Office suite of programmes, and strong Excel skills

Experience of using the Grosvenor Systems Propman software and/or Dwellant an advantage
