Cobalt is excited to partner with a prestigious property organisation on an exclusive project. Our client, a leading real estate business known for managing a diverse portfolio of iconic retail and unique residential assets, is committed to sustainability and community engagement.
With recent business expansion, they are looking to bring a Service Charge Accountant on board to manage a portfolio of commercial and residential properties working alongside a small team. The role offers a Monday to Friday, 9AM - 5PM schedule with two days of remote working.
Responsibilities -
- Oversee Service Charge management for an assigned portfolio of assets.
- Build strong relationships with asset, property, and facilities managers, as well as management accountants, ensuring full integration and awareness of all service charge-related matters.
- Review all relevant background data and system reports to conduct a thorough analysis of income and expense transactions for the applicable service charge periods.
- Process adjustments, accruals, and prepayments within the property management system.
- Prepare a complete set of accounts for property manager approval, including summaries of any transactions without supporting documentation.
Requirements -
- Experience in Service Charge Accountancy or advisory roles.
- Familiarity with both commercial and residential property types.
- Proficient using property management systems - ideally Horizon and Voyager
- Strong knowledge of the RICS Service Charge Code, Professional Statement requirements, case law, and relevant precedents.
