This role will suit someone who has first hand experience handling a tax enquiry and tribunal, ideally for a large corporate/Financial Services sector taxpayer.

You will either work in a similar team and be seeking a better path to leadership positions, or else you will be in HMRC and looking for a move into consulting.

  • Day to day management of ongoing matters as part of a wider team, from liaising with HMRC and the Tribunal to helping manage the internal and client relationships as well as building relationships with new clients.
  • Producing written advice for the client and drafting responses to correspondence.
  • Instructing Counsel, including preparing Instructions to Counsel and Notes of Conference/Consultation
  • Drafting key documentation such as Directions, Notices of Appeal, witness statements
  • Presenting case law and technical updates to the FS tax practice and at client events.
