Based in London, you will be responsible for supporting the firm’s Tax and Partner Accounting team on tax and partner accounting matters for the firm’s non-US offices, including London, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Brussels plus the firm’s new Luxembourg office. You will be able to develop your knowledge of international tax matters and partner accounting with the support of the Senior International Tax Manager based in London, alongside the rest of the New York based Tax team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain documentation for review by the Senior Manager for the Firm’s tax filings, including the reporting of U.K. and international operations and partnerships, including direct and indirect tax compliance.
- For the London office, this will include the partnership tax return, calculating of estimated figures for post-Basis Period Reform reporting, PAYE Settlement Agreement reporting, Short Term Business Visitor reporting;
- Perform research of relevant tax laws, regulations and rulings including trends and developments concerning complex domestic and international tax issues;
- Maintain tax compliance calendars and various control schedules to ensure all tax filings are prepared and filed in a timely manner;
- Prepare modelling to assist the Tax team, Tax Matters Partner and CFO in decision making
- Assist the Tax team with the partner distribution process and partner cash flow reporting;
- Support London based partners with their personal tax positions in conjunction with external advisors
- Maintain working relationships with external advisers
- Assist the Tax team with fully utilising new technologies and helping to deliver process improvements
- Liaise with the wider business services team in the London office to provide advice on tax implications of their work, including globally mobile employees
Candidate Profile
- 3-5 years of experience
- Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of UK tax laws, accounting and tax regulations in a business tax environment
- Explaining complex tax concepts to non-tax specialists
- Strong customer service and relationship building skills
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
- Proficiency in tax research
- Public accounting experience in a large professional services organisation
- Familiarity with UK tax legislation as it applies to partnerships, including recent significant legislative changes.
- Familiarity with international tax aspects of a large professional services
