A fantastic local opportunity with a practice that offers consultancy services tailored to individuals and entities planning to invest in the U.S., as well as U.S. persons seeking to invest or expand into the UK and/or Europe. These services encompass advice on optimal investment ownership structures, entity formation for business operations, tax mitigation strategies, and techniques for tax-efficient income repatriation.

Due to continuous growth and expansion, I have an exciting opportunity for an experienced US/UK Tax Director to manage and lead a growing team of US/UK professionals, with a clear progression path to Partner.Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrate strong leadership
  • Significant involvement in marketing events and business development to achieve the business goals for the group and firm including building an effective business network and developing a strong personal brand internally and where possible externally
  • Taking ownership for financial management of the group including WIP management, billing targets, cash collection and providing quotes on an annual basis and for new work.
  • Active role in the development, technical training and support for the junior members of staff
  • Ensuring all deliverables are delivered at the correct level and end product being of high quality and within the appropriate deadline
  • Excelling in technical research, ad hoc advisory projects, specialising in areas such as treaty claims, complex capital gains tax issues, and the areas of taxation relevant to non-domiciled individuals
  • Oversee the efficient running of US and UK annual tax return processes
  • Oversee and manage the process of dealing with enquiries raised by the IRS and HMRC and involvement in the more challenging cases
  • Support, train and assist team members to maximise their performance
  • Keep abreast of developments in accounting, taxation and relevant computer science
  • Attend all allocated internal and external training sessions as required
  • Communicate with colleagues, supervisors and clients in an honest and direct manner
  • Maintain client confidentiality at all times in accordance with HR Policies & Procedures
  • Ensure full care is taken in the performance of all duties in order to protect the health and safety of oneself, fellow employees, visitors and contractors of the business, in accordance with the HR Policies and Procedures
  • Become familiar, and work in accordance with HR Policies & Procedures.

About You: You will demonstrate confidence in delivering work to the highest standard, possess exceptional communication skills, and maintain a flexible and adaptable approach to your responsibilities. Ideally, you will bring 15 years of professional experience in taxation, coupled with advanced expertise in taxation law.

You will also have/be:

  • Solid understanding of accounting and tax software
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • A Bachelor of Commerce degree or equivalent
  • Post graduate qualifications in taxation required (CPA, EA or JD)
  • High level leadership skills
  • High level of staff management skills (delegation, monitoring staff performance and guiding staff through deadlines)
  • Strong communication skills between clients, staff and management
  • Advanced computer operational skills
  • High level time management skills
  • Experience working with CCH and Virtual Cabinet
  • The ability to work with prestigious clients who require complete confidentiality
