Location: Central London

Salary: £30,000-£32,000 + excellent additional benefits including full study support and free travel!

Hybrid working: 2 days in the office 3 days at home

My client a growing transport company have an opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join their friendly team.

This role is perfect for candidates who have some accountancy experience and thrive in a challenging and busy environment you will be given the opportunity to progress and study for a professional qualification - full study support given.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide accurate, timely, and relevant financial information to support business decision-making.
  • Focus on business-oriented periodic management reporting.
  • Support the Accounts Payable and Station Accounting teams in delivering their objectives and reporting requirements.
  • Provide financial analysis across responsible directorates to support the achievement of the business strategy.
  • Undertake and assist in period and year-end accounts preparation through processing journals, raising accruals and prepayments, and dealing with invoice queries.
  • Report on financial performance and prepare periodic reports to support commercial decision-making.
  • Develop key KPIs and assist in the annual forecasting/budget processes.
  • Ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and reflect underlying business activities and objectives.
  • Support the treasury function in maintaining up-to-date and accurate reporting.
  • Liaise closely with the financial control team to ensure reliability, accuracy, and timeliness of financial information.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Professional pride and accuracy in all aspects of work.
  • A strong aptitude for learning to continuously develop personally and professionally.
  • Qualified (AAT) or working towards qualification.
  • Experience handling financial and non-financial data sets (desirable).
  • Competence in Excel.
  • Comfortable working to simultaneous deadlines.
