Reed is acting on behalf of a Food Wholesaler - We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounting, proficient in using SAP, and possessing AAT qualifications. The successful candidate will support the Finance Manager in various accounting tasks, ensuring accurate maintenance of both Accounts Payable and Receivable ledgers, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements and audits.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Accounts Payable Ledger Maintenance:
    • Check and process purchase and raw material invoices.
    • Prepare and process UK and international payments.
    • Conduct month-end reconciliations.
  • Accounts Receivable Ledger Maintenance:
    • Process customer receipts.
    • Manage credit control and implement dunning processes.
    • Perform month-end reconciliations.
  • Support the Finance Manager in preparing monthly and annual financial statements and during audits.
  • Check and process travel expenses using Concur.
  • Maintain schedules for prepayments, fixed assets, additions, and disposals.
  • Handle processing and control of provisions and accruals.
  • Perform general administration and filing tasks.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • AAT qualifications are necessary.
  • Previous experience with the SAP Accounting system is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Reliable and accurate with attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and availability for occasional overtime during audits, month ends, and busy periods.
