My client is a leading legal recruitment firm based in the City of London. They are looking for a permanent Accounts Assistant to join there busy team and perform a variety of transactional and some month-end duties. This role is ideally for someone with 3 years plus of experience who has the ability to work individually or as part of a team.

The role

  • Processing supplier payments, invoices, into Xero accounting system
  • Processing contractor and third party payments on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Setting up new suppliers into accounting software
  • Preparing financial statements showing business income and expenditure
  • Reconciling statements and rectifying inaccuracies
  • Completing daily and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Developing monthly financial statements including cash flow, profit and loss and balance sheets
  • Managing employee expense claims
  • Assisting with commission payment on a weekly basis
  • Producing and sending accurate sales invoices for clients on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Taking care of administrative tasks, such as correspondence, filing and printing
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed customer records and creating new customer accounts
  • Building a good rapport with clients and providing an accounting team with relevant information
  • Preparing and entering journals into the system
  • Supporting the preparation of management accounts and month-end duties when required

Experience and skill set

  • Good attention to detail to enter correct data into financial records and recognise errors
  • Computer literacy, especially familiarity with spreadsheets, databases and accounting software such as Microsoft Office, Excel and Business Central software
  • Multi-tasking and organisational skills to manage different financial duties, including the ability to prioritise tasks in order to meet deadlines
  • Interpersonal and customer service skills for dealing with customers, suppliers and other employees in the accounts department
  • Communication skills, including the ability to explain complex financial matters in accessible terms
