We are currently recruiting for a financial advisory and investment management business who are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our Group Finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the Financial Controller and wider Finance function in the preparation and maintenance of the company's financial records and processing of transactions. This role will be reporting to the Financial Controller. This role will sit in the central Finance function as part of a wider team of 7 individuals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting with the maintenance of the company's accounting system, including processing transactions and reconciling accounts
  • Recording financial transactions and preparing journal entries.
  • Performing bank reconciliations and ensuring all discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Preparing accounts receivable and accounts payable reports.
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Assisting with credit card and expense management.
  • Prepare weekly and/or fortnightly payment runs.
  • Liaising with other departments and external partners to resolve any financial issues or discrepancies.
  • Assisting with audit preparation and providing support during the audit process.
  • Maintain accurate electronic filing and email filing.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Highly analytical with the ability to manage and interpret data effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office, with advanced excel skills
  • Strong organisation skills with the ability to prioritize workload aligned with objectives and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Experience:

  •  Previous experience in an accounting role, preferably in a financial services environment.
  •  Experience with accounting software is desirable

Qualifications:

  •  A degree in Accounting or Finance or part qualified - AAT
  •  Desire to do an accounting qualification such as CIMA.

Technical Knowledge:

  •  Financial services industry knowledge with a good base understanding of finance related process and procedure
  •  Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

Location: London (hybrid 2/3 days in the office)

Salary £35,000

Bonus: Discretionary paid annually in March

Benefits: Pension (5 % ER / 3 % EE) and 4 x DIS

Annual leave: 26 days per annum

1 x well-being day per year (separate to annual leave)
