This role is crucial in supporting the finance team by maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with financial policies, and assisting with day-to-day financial tasks. Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist the Accounting team in managing daily financial operations, including recording transactions, updating ledgers, and reconciling bank statements.
  • Prepare and maintain financial records such as invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers accurately and timely.
  • Process and track accounts payable and receivable, verify and reconcile invoices, payments, and credit notes.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements, budgets, and reports as needed.
  • Monitor and manage inventory, conduct stock counts, and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Maintain and organize financial documents in compliance with company policies.
  • Assist with year-end audits and tax filings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial information and smooth operations.
  • Stay updated with accounting regulations and implement necessary compliance measures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in the confectionary or food manufacturing sector.
  • Proficient in SAP (FI, AA, CO, materials module) and basic knowledge of Xero.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles, GAAP, and familiarity with UK accounting regulations and tax laws.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality with sensitive financial information.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
