Assistant Accountant - Job Description:
Overview
Our client is a high growth AI driven SAAS business that has recently listed on NASDAQ. They are located in Central London, near Piccadilly Circus, and have recently moved in to a premuim new office. This role is responsible for assisting in the preparation of the Financial accounts for the businesss entities. You will process financial transactions ensuring that current procedures are followed and identifying improvements. You will be a point of contact in the finance team for information relating to finance transactions and will liaise with staff to ensure accurate processing and reporting. Reporting to the FP&A and Reporting Manager. This is an office based role and you will be expected to work in the office 5 days per week - obviously with some flexibility from time to time.
Scope of the Job
• Assisting with the preparation of monthly accounts
• Posting journals, reconciling bank statements and finance accounts
• Processing invoices, expense forms and payments
• Completing financial reports on a regular basis and providing information to the finance team
• Working with sales / purchase ledger
• Preparing accruals, prepayments and company ledgers
• Reporting on debtors and creditors
• Supporting internal and external audits
• Assisting with the month end process
• Ad hoc accountancy tasks where required.
Experience
• Excellent communication skills are required, with an ability to convey financial information clearly to all staff members.
• Previous experience in a similar accounting role is essential and be able to use financial software and systems efficiently to support this, Quickbooks preferable.
• Experience of processing high volumes of transactions.
• Knowledge of accounting and VAT principles is essential.
• A self-motivated, tenacious individual able to consistently deliver service objectives, on time.
• Organises workload, managing peaks and troughs in workload.
• Remains calm and polite under pressure.
• Team player, someone who actively contributes to their group to complete tasks
