Venn Group have again partnered with one of our closest clients to aid them in the search for an Accounts Assistant. This position is based in South-West London, with 2 days per week required on-site (Tues and Thurs).

This role will sit as part of a team of 3, reporting into the Finance Manager and will primarily focus on supporting Management Accounting.

This is a 6 month contract, with a strong possibility for extension/permanent work. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and variance analysis.
  • Support the production of financial reports, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and insights for senior management.
  • Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with relevant departments to gather data.
  • Reconcile key control accounts, ensuring discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of invoices, payments, and expenses.
  • Assist in preparing audit schedules and liaising with external auditors as required.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to improve processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support accounts payable and receivable functions when needed.

Requirements:

  • Educated to a degree level or equivalant 
  • Studying or qualified in AAT/CIMA/ACCA etc
  • Proven experience in an accounting or finance role, ideally with exposure to management accounts
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standard
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
