Accounts Assistant

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Post invoices onto the Xero software system.
  • Manage the age creditor ledger of funds and set up payments.
  • Ensure timely receipt of rents, where applicable.
  • Handle AML/KYC documentation for client onboarding and investor take-on, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with external partners for the preparation of some fund accounting.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns and maintain cash flow forecasts for various funds.
  • Assist in opening bank accounts for new clients and preparing payment runs, coordinating approval as per agreed procedures.
  • Adhere to internal control procedures and assist in various tasks as defined by the Fund Controller or COO to meet operational needs.
  • Develop an understanding of different fund types and structures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Part-qualified accountant (ACCA), currently working in an accounting practice and completing studies.
  • Possess an accounting degree with a minimum 2:1 grade.
  • Strong accounting skills with meticulous attention to detail and excellent client-facing skills.
  • Highly organised with effective time management and planning skills.
  • Problem-solving ability, with an inquisitive mind capable of troubleshooting.
  • Highly productive, delivery-focused, and adaptable to ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in a timely manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic about proposing and implementing positive changes.
