Small but growing property and property management business in Covent Garden requires an Assistant Accountant. This role is office based for 4 days per week with one day working from home, but once you are established it may be possible to work from home on 2 days. It is a new role due to growth, and reports to an experienced Finance Director. The role involves:

  • managing the daily activities of the purchase ledgers for 2 businesses from start to finish, including supplier liaison and payment runs
  • Re-imbursement of staff expenses
  • Sales ledger posting and control including credit control
  • Maintainence of several bank accounts with CSV uploads and regular reconciliations
  • Prepare for the monthly management accounts by performing balance sheet reconciliations, calculation and posting of accruals and prepayments and ensuring a robust and reliable trial balance.
  • Budgeting and cash planning

You will be required to liaise with both clients and colleagues, so great interpersonal skills are a must for this role. The ideal candidate would be a studying accountant who already has a few years' experience within a smaller business, or an experienced book-keeper looking for some autonomy and the opportunity to influence and control how things are done. Prior experience of working on Quickbooks, or for a Property Company would be an advantage, but are not essential.
