Assistant Accountant | Reputable Gaming Business | Remote or Hybrid

Harmonic are delighted to be working with a Video Games Developer & Publisher in their search for an Assistant Accountant to join their growing team London.

The business is a major player within the Gaming space with multiple recent successful game releases in recent years that have attracted millions of gamers globally.

You'll join a business that places high importance on flexibility, work-life balance and autonomy, so you'll have the flexibility to work remotely or on a hybrid basis in London depending on your preference.

The Role:

We're looking for a someone with a strong understanding of accounting principles and relevant experience to take responsibility for key month end processes and other financial reporting workstreams, supporting the Group as a listed company in meeting its regulatory accounting and reporting requirements. The role reports to the Group Reporting Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and posting of month-end journals across the P&L and Balance Sheet on a timely and accurate basis, including accruals, prepayments and intercompany transactions,
  • Preparation of month-end balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies,
  • Collate subsidiary month-end reporting information,
  • Contribute to the interim and year-end audit reviews through collation and provision of information such as bank statements, general ledger breakdowns, journals, invoices and other supporting documents as required,
  • Support the Accounts Payable and Treasury functions as required,
  • Support the reporting team and wider finance function with process improvement projects.

What We Need to See (Essential Skills):

  • AAT Level 3/4 qualification, CIMA certificate level or equivalent or Qualified by experience.
  • Strong understanding of double-entry accounting and journal preparation and posting.
  • Experience working with accounting systems (QuickBooks preferred).
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (PIVOT, V-LOOKUP & SUMIF)
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

What We'd Like to See (Bonus):

  • Experience in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • A keen interest in video games is helpful but not essential
