ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT

  • Location: Paddington, London
  • Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week 

Reed Accountancy are partnering with a leading UK commercial theatre producer to recruit an Assistant Accountant into their head office finance team.  This role offers the opportunity to work within both Theatre and Film divisions and is ideal for a candidate looking to develop their skills as the company grows.

Day to day of the role:
  • Produce daily theatre sales figure reports for all tours and West End shows, providing information on deals, contract terms, and KPI statistics.
  • Control the purchase ledger payments to maximise cash benefits to the company.
  • Generate payment reports and related BACS, maintain and reconcile the purchase ledger.
  • Manage credit control, including customer onboarding, credit checks, and other activities.
  • Process invoices/orders, handle supplier queries, and reconcile statements.
  • Code invoices and negotiate prices with suppliers for procurement.
  • Review, reconcile, and post expense claims, and control company credit card expenditure.
  • Control, post, and reconcile petty cash, ensuring business-purpose expenditure.
  • Assist with raising debtor invoices and chasing when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Comfortable and proficient with numbers, with prior experience in an accounting role.
  • Excellent IT skills, including MS Excel.
  • Energetic and resilient, with a proven ability to take initiative.
  • Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Desire to progress and expand role within the company.
