I am recruiting for an experienced Assistant Accountant / Financial Accountant to join a renowned Hospitality Group in London. This is a new role which offers fantastic progression and development opportunities.

The purpose of this role is to manager the delivery of all fixed cost information to the business in conjunction with the finance accounting calendar. Clear understanding of drivers behind fixed cost performance across the Group with the finance team and the property team.

Scope of the Role:

  • Ultimate responsibility for all fixed costs across the Group including preparing commentary for the senior finance team
  • Ownership of the Group budgeting and forecasting process for fixed costs
  • Accounting for the organisations fixed costs and monitoring against budget
  • Ensuring the integrity of the financial numbers including preparation and review of control account reconciliations for all fixed cost balance sheet accounts every period
  • Liaising with external landlords, managing agents, suppliers and other third parties
  • Providing key support for all members of the management and finance teams
  • Business partnering with the property team to develop positive relationships to enable accurate, and timely reporting
  • Developing and Maintaining master lease schedule of all group leases and related property costs
  • Ensuring accurate and timely reporting for all turnover rent requirements
  • Supporting financial aspects of the property acquisition process
  • Working closely with accounts payable team to ensure timely and accurate invoice processing

Key Accountabilities:

  • Period end journals including accruals and prepayments for fixed costs
  • Review monthly fixed costs and provide insight to senior management
  • Responsible for the preparation of owned balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date information acquired through business partnering with property team, and develop relationship to ensure open channels of communication and as a consequence timely notice of any changes to fixed costs to the finance team

Experience, Skills & behaviours:

  • Part qualified accountant CIMA/ACCA/ACA
  • Property accounting and transactions experience desirable but not necessary
  • Ability to work autonomously when required, whilst still possessing strong teamwork skills.
