This is a rapidly expanding consultancy business based in central London. They work with a number of senior leaders providing expertise and services to enable companies to work more efficiently.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to hire a talented and bright Assistant Accountant to join their high performing team, providing opportunity to study and qualify as an Accountant.
Role
Reporting into the Finance Director, the Assistant Accountant will support day-to-day accounting and month-end preparation, further developing into ownership of management accounts preparation in future. This position will take on a number of key duties including:
- Managing the generation and review of internal invoices.
- Upload and code supplier invoices to Xero.
- Assist with the month-end close procedures, including balance sheet reconciliations.
- Preparation of deferred income schedules.
- Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of bank accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Collaborate with various teams across the business to provide financial insights.
- Provide analysis to help rive informed decision making.
- Process payment runs for approval ensuring adherence to deadlines for supplier payments.
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial operations.
Profile
The ideal profile for this Assistant Accountant position should have the following attributes:
- Ideally 2+ years of experience in a similar accounting position supporting transactional & month-end work.
- Degree educated within a relevant discipline, ideally with a strong academic background.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with Xero would be advantageous.
- Confident with Excel formulas (Pivot tables / VLOOKUPs etc.)
- Keen on studying towards a relevant qualification (ACCA/CIMA)
Salary / Package
£33,000 to £38,000 *DOE + additional benefits including:
