This role provides a fantastic chance to be part of a growing finance department, where you will assist in preparing monthly management accounts and collaborate closely with the Finance Director.Responsibilities of the Assistant Accountant include but not limited to:
  • Journal entries
  • Monthly reconciliations
  • Accruals/prepayments
  • Run the monthly accounting timetable
  • Early/End Monthly Reporting
  • Consolidated accounts
  • VAT returns
  • Maintaining fixed asset register/depreciation
  • Aged payables/receivables
  • Liaising with 3rd parties re retro’s, rates, CIS, turnover rent, payroll
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations & standards
  • Assisting with annual budget preparation
  • Assisting with statutory audit
  • Working closely with the FD
The successful Assistant Accountant will require the following skills and experience:
  • Part-qualified or working towards a professional accounting qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous
