Reed are helping a prestigious Wholesaler seek an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented and skilled in financial processes including balance sheet reconciliation, cash flow assistance, and bank reconciliations. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our financial reporting.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Conduct thorough balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Assist in managing cash flow to optimise the company’s financial liquidity and reduce risks.
  • Execute payment runs efficiently, ensuring all payments are processed accurately and on time.
  • Perform bank reconciliations to confirm that bank transactions are recorded correctly in the company accounts.
  • Prepare detailed reports on budgeting that aid in financial planning and cost management.
  • Support the month-end closing process, including the preparation of financial statements and other monthly financial reports.
  • Prepare management accounts, providing critical financial insights that aid in strategic decision-making.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in an accounting role with a strong focus on the tasks listed.
  • Exceptional skills in Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with Power BI and SAP software is highly desirable, enhancing data visualization and financial data management.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
