Assistant Accountant

Reed Accountancy are partnering with a leading technology company in the global lottery, betting, and gaming space. We are looking for a hands-on Assistant Accountant with strong Payroll experience to work directly with the Finance Director. This role is perfect for someone with experience in a similar role who is looking to expand their skills and knowledge in a supportive and growth-oriented environment.  The company are open to hiring someone on a full time or part time basis.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Conduct bookkeeping using QuickBooks in multiple currencies
  • Run monthly payroll for 100+ employees
  • Maintain the fixed assets register
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and improve accounts processes and internal controls
  • Handle accounting-related queries and verify and reconcile contractors’ tables with billing information
  • Streamline processes to assist with revenue recognition and cost accruals
  • Prepare and submit HMRC returns (VAT & EC Sales List)
  • Manage the AP process; prepare cash flow reports and payment files on a weekly basis
  • Support month-end reports and various other management reports
  • Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the ISO27001 Information Security Management System 
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • ACCA/ACA/CIMA part-qualified or actively studying towards qualification
  • Experience in a similar role with demonstrated efficiency, accuracy, and timely accounting
  • Previous payroll preparation experience in a company with a headcount of 100+
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with colleagues at all levels
  • Self-starter with an eye for detail and a willingness to exceed job expectations
  • Ability to work under pressure in a commercial environment to meet tight deadlines
  • Experience in the iGaming market (lottery, sportsbook, casino, bingo) is advantageous
  • QuickBooks experience and financial modelling knowledge are desirable
