Do you have at least 2 years of experience in an accountancy practice? Our client is looking for an Assistant Accountant to manage a workflow of a portfolio of clients in a timely manner, including pre year end meetings, annual accounts and tax production and submission. You will also be communicating with HMRC and Companies House on behalf of clients.

Essential requirements for the Assistant Accountant• At least 2 years of experience in an accountancy practice working in a similar role.• Part/Full ACCA / ACA / AAT qualified, or similar or qualified by experience (5+ years).• Demonstrable experience and skills with accounting software ideally QBPM, Excel, Sage, and others. • Strong verbal and written communication skills.• Exceptional organisation and time management abilities.

Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Accountant• Preparation of sole trade, Partnership and Rental accounts.• Preparation of LTD Company accounts and corporation tax returns.• Preparation and submission of personal tax computations and returns.• Completing relevant registrations with HMRC.• Conduct bookkeeping and payroll tasks.• Communicating and liaising between clients/visitors/enquirers.• Establish and maintain a professional and friendly working relationship with clients, professional contacts, and team members.• Record, manage, organise, and update relevant data using software applications.• Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility.• Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance and adherence to relevant health and safety procedures.• Other duties to support management and other team members as required consistent with the role as directed.
