Assistant Accountant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant to support our finance team with daily accounting tasks. The role involves assisting in financial reporting, reconciliations and compliance while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist and oversee invoices, payments, and expenses are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain the general ledger and assist with journal entries.
  • Support in system implementation and set up
  • Ownership of the debtors ledger and credit control. 
  • Provide administrative support to the finance team as required.
  • Ensure compliance with UK GAAP and financial regulations.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA, CIMA.
  • Experience: Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Xero, Cin7)
  • Analytical Skills: Strong numerical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of UK GAAP.
  • Experience in financial management reporting and reconciliations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
